Engineering: Steel Detailing System: Central Texas Iron Works will download (by modem or diskette) the customer's electronic data neutral file (3-D model) into the Design Data SDS/2 Steel Detailing System, producing shop drawings of unprecedented accuracy. CTIW's Electronic Operating System also provides the DXF files for our Burning Table and Plate Duplicator, CNC files for the Drill Line and Angle Master, and BIF files for bar coding, invoicing, mill orders and other operational documents. CTIW can use the "stick-built" concept of the 3-D model if the customer does not provide a neutral file, giving the customer a similar level of service, including an upload of a 3-D model for use in interference checks. CTIW's Electronic Production Process can virtually eliminate detailing errors and compress schedules as much as four weeks. The Electronic Production Process coupled with CTIW's industry-leading bar code tracking system will compress project execution schedules and material receiving, and dramatically reduce field re-work.  In addition, CTIW utilizes the Internet to facilitate the transmittal of electronic drawings in various formats.   All of the above will reduce "total cost" and improve profitability for the owner and contractor.
