Bar Coding: CTIW utilizes a bar coding system for tracking material status in fabrication, coating, shipment and receipt in the field. A permanent die-stamped marking is enhanced by the addition of a bar code label to each shipping piece, offering our customers a variety of electronic opportunities. The primary purpose of bar coding is to provide the customer with the necessary electronic data for developing Material Receiving Reports, both for their internal use and for transmission back to CTIW confirming receipt of goods. Since the system can be PC-based, it is economical to begin producing Material Receiving Reports by scanning our bar codes. This system offers a catalyst for interfacing computer systems between our customers and CTIW. Our customers can ultimately build an electronic model of a structure as it is received in the field to offer a more advanced approach to Project Management.
